Nylon has long been the preferred material for collection and storage of evidence which may contain solvents found in accelerants. Unlike plastic bags, solvents will not break down the nylon material of our Nylon Arson Evidence Collection Bags, preventing the loss of flammables and hydrocarbons. These evidence bags virtually eliminate the potential for cross-contamination from propellant fumes. Safeguard arson evidence during lengthy storage periods.

This Arson 2 Wavelength ALS kit features two, 2-in-1 flashlights. One flashlight has a 2 switch mode from 365nm UV, to white, the second flashlight switches between 385nm UV, to white. Models best suited for Arson Investigation work where accelerants are to be detected under long wave UV. 365nm wavelength typically recommended, but investigators are having great success with 385nm models accelerant detection, gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.

The new CrimeCam Full Spectrum Imaging System (FSIS) is the most advanced image capturing system in the world. The CrimeCam features a full spectrum 16MP digital camera with sensitivity from the deep UV through real IR. With over 16 megapixels of resolution and sensitivity from 254nm to 1100nm, the CrimeCam can easily capture a full handprint at 1000 PPI (pixels per inch), and micro evidence up to 2,500 PPI. No more looking for a latent fingerprint with a handheld RUVIS and then blindly photographing the evidence in order to get a high-resolution image. No more green, grainy, small images at a low resolution limiting the capturing area to 1" x 1" with the old RUVIS technology.

This kit is designed specifically for the collection of materials at fire and arson scenes. The tools provided facilitate the removal of the most commonly required evidential samples, including plaster, soot excelsior, wood chips and soil samples. The supplied collection containers allow for quick and easy, contaminant-free delivery to the lab for analysis. The ”Arson Investigator’s Manual” is included.

This kit will assist the investigator in collecting arson scene liquid with as little contamination as possible. Each non-leachable glass sample bottle is equipped with a hydrocarbon-resistant cap. Filtering equipment is provided to separate debris from suspected liquids in order to minimize site contamination and facilitate subsequent laboratory analysis. The ”Arson Investigator’s Manual” is included.

To achieve the best laboratory results, liquid samples suspected of containing ignitable residue should be collected and packaged into an these teflon lined evidence jars. This way volatiles migrate and gather in the head space without leakage or possible deterioration to the jar and lid. Unlike evidence cans, these jars are best for liquid samples, not solid samples suspected of carrying accelerants.
